Terms of service

The short version

You get a free reading, once. If you want more, membership is 3 days free and then $29 a month. You can cancel at any time, including during the trial, from inside your own account in two clicks. If your first charge wasn't worth it, we refund it within 7 days.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older to take a reading or hold a membership. By using the site you confirm that you are.

The free reading

One personalized three-card reading per person, no card required. It is a complete reading and it is yours to keep — it does not expire, and nothing in it is withheld pending payment.

One per person is enforced by email address, because each reading is written from scratch rather than pulled off a shelf.

Membership, billing and the trial

Membership starts with 3 days free. Nothing is charged on the day you join. We email you before the trial converts, so the first charge is never a surprise.

After the trial it renews automatically at $29 a month, at the rate you joined at, until you cancel. Annual membership, if you switch to it, renews once a year at $290.

Billing is handled by Whop, our merchant of record. Whop takes the payment, holds your card details, and issues your receipts. Your card details never reach us.

If a payment fails we will tell you and retry it over a few days. Your membership stays active while that happens — a declined card is usually an expiry date, not a decision.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the billing page in your account. It takes two clicks, there is no retention call, and no form to fill in.

Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep everything you have paid for until the end of the period you already paid for, and your archive stays readable afterwards — you simply stop receiving new readings.

Refunds

If your first charge wasn't worth it, write to contact@brutaltruthtarot.com within 7 days of it and we refund it in full. You do not have to justify it.

Beyond that window we do not refund past months as a matter of course, because you had the readings. If something went genuinely wrong — a reading that never arrived, a charge you did not expect — tell us and we will make it right.

What membership includes, and its limits

Readings whenever you want them, follow-up questions on any reading, a card each morning, a five-card reading each Monday, and a ten-card deep reading each month.

"Whenever you want" has one ceiling: a fair-use limit of roughly 6 readings' worth of generation per day. It exists to stop automated abuse, not to ration the product — normal use will never meet it.

Membership is for one person. Sharing an account is not permitted.

What tarot is, and what it isn't

Readings are written for guidance and reflection. They are not medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified professional. If something in your life needs a doctor, a lawyer, or a therapist, please go and see one.

Nothing here predicts the future, and no reading should be treated as a decision made for you. What you do next is yours.

If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line. We are not equipped to help with that and would rather say so plainly.

Your readings and your words

The questions you ask and the notes you write are yours. We do not publish them, sell them, or show them to anyone else.

The readings we generate for you are yours to keep, read, print, and share as you like. The site itself — its writing, design, artwork and code — remains ours.

Using it fairly

Don't try to break the service, get around its limits, resell it, scrape it, or use it to harass anybody. We may suspend an account that does, and will refund any unused portion if we do.

When things go wrong

We work to keep the service running and readings arriving, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable. Readings are generated by software and, very occasionally, one fails — when that happens nothing is charged and nothing is used up.

To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited. If you think we owe you something, write to contact@brutaltruthtarot.com first — it is faster than anything else, and we would rather fix it.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that affects what you are paying for, we will email members before it takes effect rather than quietly reposting the page. Continuing to use Brutal Tarot after that means you accept the change; if you would rather not, cancel and we will refund the current period.
